AREA ATTRACTIONS

Located in the heart of the 2 million acres of Rio Grande National Forest, outdoor recreation opportunities abound throughout the year. In addition to nearby activities and attractions found with in the San Luis Valley of Southern Colorado.

South Fork, Colorado offers a variety of restaurants, gift shops, sporting goods and guides for Fly-Fishing & River Rafting. Visitors will also find Horseback riding, Mtn. Bike & Jeep Rentals in the area.

Downhill Skiing & Snowboarding at Wolf Creek Ski Area“The Most Snow in Colorado" is located only 20 miles from Grandview. 

Snowmobilers will also delight in the deep powder in the surrounding hills, with over 250 miles of groomed trails by 2 local clubs.

 

Hiking Trails  of various lengths and difficulty are found surrounding the area.

Multiple ATV Trails can also be found nearby, with a new ATV trail access route through South Fork guests can ride right from the park to the trails north of town.  Riders must have proof of insurance to obtain the required flag and sticker to ride in Grandview RV park and roads and trails in South Fork.  There are also many other trails and forest roads in the area.  Be sure and check with Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the town of South Fork for rules and regulations.

 

Mtn. Bikers will find a mecca of world class riding, plus great challenging trails just ouside Del Norte, CO

 

Golf the Rio Grande Club - a championship 18 hole course, just 5 miles away.

Fisherman will delight in the 22 miles of Gold Medal waters along the Rio Grande, as well as plenty of other streams and lakes for anglers.

The Silver Thread Scenic byway follows Hwy 149 for 135 miles to Gunnison, CO with stops along the way including the historical towns of Creede & Lake City. Driving this rout will take you back in time to the original settlers of the area, plus spotlights on area, wildlife, geology and culture.  Fall foliage along these routes during the months of September and October will take your breath away.

 

Creede Colorado is located 25 miles from Grandview, a historic silver mining town featuring driving tours, shops, and the Creede Repetory Theatre; A Nationally renowed theatre offering plays, musicals & concerts performed in a 1930s venue with regional art displayed in the lobby.

Great Sand Dunes National Park & Preserve is located less than an hours drive from Grandview. Don't forget to check out the Colorado Gator Farm, while you are in the neighborhood.
